EXPERIMENT No. 3

SCRAP SURF

For Experiment No. 3, Shwood founder Eric Singer teamed up with some friends to create a unique wooden surfboard. Singer and company processed and shaped a functional, one-of-a-kind board using only reclaimed wood found on the Oregon coast. The construction process was guided by the expertise of Joe Blecha (blechaboardshop.com), a bona fide virtuoso of custom surf and snowboard construction. Kahana Kalama, professional surfer turned shop-owner (alohasunday.com), was there to test the limits of the handmade board upon its completion. Watch the video to see the entire process from scrap to surf.

Excellent! A fellow Florida surfer shared your video link and I loved seeing your process and product. I’ve been making some other surf-related items from beach-salvaged wood too, but nothing near that board. Beautiful.
