Portland photographer, Neil DaCosta, loves summer. Here’s a few words about his latest photo exercise dedicated to the few months of bliss that make Oregon such an incredible place to enjoy summer…
“In the past, I usually only shot photos when I had a specific idea in mind. I wanted to change this habit and shoot spontaneous images of my daily occurrences. The best way I figured to do this was to give the photos some purpose, the reason I started “Summer”. I came up with the Summer theme during our long, wet, cold Spring. This year I was literally counting down the days until the first day of summer, June 21st, 2011. Over the past few weeks, I have definitely become more comfortable with a camera in my personal life, and hope my friends have too. I am not looking forward to rapidly approaching Fall, but will continue to shoot and upload photos daily.”
