If you’re like me, you’re probably not familiar with ferrofluid, but it’s pretty fascinating stuff for the artist & science geek alike. When placed under a magnetic field, this black liquid creates geometric barriers of iron particles. This allows Oefner to add multiple watercolors that remain separated by the ferrofluid and form these incredible thumbnail-sized images.

Flora & Fascia – The Art of Jeff Proctor https://experimentwithnature.com/03-found/flora-fascia-jeff-proctor-at-breeze-block-gallery/ https://experimentwithnature.com/03-found/flora-fascia-jeff-proctor-at-breeze-block-gallery/#comments Thu, 11 Aug 2011 18:01:53 +0000 http://experimentwithnature.com/?p=277 Portland artist, Jeff Proctor artist recently showcased a slew of personal work during Portland’s monthly “First Thursday” art exhibition.  While Jeff has been commissioned to get creative for the likes of Nike SB, Zoo York Skateboards and Burton Snowboards, he really stands out in his personal work.  We got the chance to attend the opening of his show at Breeze Block Gallery, 323 NW 6th Portland, OR.  Jeff’s show consisted mostly of amazing water color pieces that juxtapoz images of gritty skulls with beautiful flowers, however the show stopper was his installation of a cozy bed of kittens.  Pretty rad stuff.  The show runs until August 27th so if you’re in the area be sure to check it out.
